Excellent burger. Bun held up and still soft. Fries were very hot, cooked perfectly, but could use a little seasoning. Strongly recommend.

Stopped in for a burger. We each had a 6 oz burger. They were both cooked to perfection. My partner ordered his medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. I ordered mine well done and it was also cooked perfectly. Their bread is freshly made there along with many pies and cakes. They also serve delicious malts and shakes. We took a Hot Fudge Shake to go. The restaurant was clean and the service was excellent. A definite stop if you’re in the area.

This place was like going back in the 50s fr. Everything was fresh from the 50s chuckburger to the old school root beer. Best burgers in town for me. Definitely going back

Hope was my waitress. She knocked it out of the park with her recommendations. Food was served hot and quickly! Service was on point. The wild rice chicken soup has their rotisserie chicken in it and it is to die for. The hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy and corn was also equally as delicious. The loaf of bread that is served came out piping hot and came with butter that was ever so gently melted. To top off my meal, I had a grasshopper malt, and holy cow I have never been more full and satisfied in all my life. The next time I’m in the area I for sure will be making a pitstop here.

Cool, old school diner. Served like a diner, but cooked home style. A few dishes remind me of grandmas cooking. The dishes are for the most part, exactly as you’d expect. Decent size portions, but not overwhelming. The true star is their cakes. The chocolate fudge cake everything you want in a rich indulgent treat. Moist and sweet, it’s like eating a hug. The bread that comes with meals is warm and soft, the perfect accompaniment to a cup of soup or to start your meal off. Pot pies are a solid option. Be warned, the pot pies are served in ramekins with a crust only on the top. They are good, but if you want a pot pie with a crust on the bottom, this is not it. On a similar note, the Irish cottage pie is served in a similar fashion, but instead of a a pastry crust top, it has mashed potatoes. Truly, hard to go wrong with anything on the menu.

My wife and I love the 50's Grill. They have THEE best banana cream pie in the 5 state area. They also serve classic 50's style homemade meals. I like the hamburger steak supreme. My wife had the meatloaf (classic family dinners, right?). The wait and hostess staff are always friendly. They also offer shakes, cake, malts, and a variety of other pies. All scratch cooking. Never a shortage of comfortable booths.

It was a travel back in time to the past, the whole place really captured the essence of the 50s. The staff dressed in 50s attire and the antiques and decor were amazing to look at. Our server was friendly, helpful, attentive and had a beautiful smile and welcoming presence. The food was amazing, and very tasty. The malts and handmade bread are the stars of the show. If you are looking to eat at a classic diner near Minneapolis, this is the place to go.

My family has been coming here for many years, often with large groups that include older adults, and children. The service is always good, the food and dessert are delicious, and things are like home cooking. I highly recommend it.
